Know in advance

One model is not always one VTA

The type is defined by the criteria of the regulation, not by the model name, and a variant cannot be added retroactively. That is why we define the type structure at the start

One model may require 2–3 separate VTAs
Before you start

Pre-application review

Before testing begins, we determine how many VTAs you need (type and variant structure), which tests under UN Regulations and GOST apply, which components lack UNECE approvals, which requirements apply to EVs (UN R10, R13, R51, R85, R100, R101), eCall (ERA-GLONASS) and environmental class, and whether your document package is complete

Result: a certification plan with a test list and timeline

Why it matters: from 01.01.2027 Russia plans selective identification of imported vehicles against the VTA — if a vehicle does not match, the check is extended to the whole batch (draft resolution of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade of 11.08.2026)

As a certification body, we define the applicable requirements and tests. We do not provide design consultancy

Test laboratory

Vehicle testing

Tests under UN Regulations and GOST / TR CU within the laboratory’s scope of accreditation. Engineering tests for R&D: strain gauging, road and durability tests, bench and climatic tests, noise and EMC, crash tests, EV testing

Formats: a model test programme, a durability programme, a test session

1958 Agreement

UNECE type approval (E-mark)

Centromash is a technical service under the 1958 Agreement, categories A–D, covering more than 100 UN Regulations. As a Category B service we witness tests at the manufacturer’s or a partner laboratory (e.g. CAERI) and, based on the report, prepare the type-approval communication

Special-purpose vehicles

Special vehicles and chassis

Special-purpose trucks, truck cranes and other vehicles on chassis: Chassis Type Approval (CTA) and VTA for completed vehicles. Road restraint systems under TR CU 014/2011 — full-scale impact tests

eCall (ERA-GLONASS): testing and conformity assessment of the in-vehicle emergency call system as a component and as part of the vehicle. Factory installation avoids retrofitting after import

  3. ~90 working daysvehicle arrival → VTA

    Testing and documentation

From the vehicle’s arrival at our proving ground to the issued VTA, including the steps below

  4. 3–4 working days

    Test reports

EAEU Unified Register of conformity assessment documents

  6. 10–15 working days

    VTA registration with Gosstandart

Final step before the vehicle can be placed on the EAEU market

Timelines apply to a complete document package, a ready test vehicle and a correctly defined type structure. What speeds the project up or slows it down is identified at the pre-application review

A VTA issued in Belarus is valid across the EAEU, including Russia

What matters is not the country of issue but verifiable parameters: document status, Register entry, validity and the scope of the type approval

  1. Official letter of the EECThe Department of Technical Regulation and Accreditation confirmed on 06.06.2026 that a VTA issued under TR CU 018/2011 has legal force throughout the Union
  2. EAEU Treaty, Articles 52–53Union technical regulations have direct effect; products that passed conformity assessment circulate without repeated assessment

Proving ground and test laboratory

Tests under TR CU, GOST and UN Regulations take place at our own proving ground and in our laboratory in Minsk, within the scope of accreditation. We agree the test programme and schedule directly with you

Questions we hear most

Is a VTA issued in Belarus valid in Russia?

Yes. A VTA issued under TR CU 018/2011 has legal force throughout the EAEU — this is confirmed by the EEC. See the documents and legal basis

Does the vehicle have to come to Belarus?

Yes. Tests under GOST are performed only at our facilities. Tests under UN Regulations can be carried out at CAERI in China under our supervision (Route B), or replaced by your existing UNECE approvals (Route C)

How many VTAs does one model need?

Often one, sometimes 2–3. The type is defined by the criteria of TR CU 018/2011, not by the model name. We define the structure at the pre-application review, because variants cannot be added later

Why is only environmental class 4 confirmed if the vehicle is class 6?

The EAEU recognises results under UN Regulations; Chinese national environmental documents are not yet accepted. Without confirmation under UN Regulations, the laboratory can confirm only environmental class 4

A component has no E-mark. What should we do?

Ask the supplier for the export version with an official UNECE approval. If there is none, the component is certified separately. We settle this at the pre-application review, before testing

What should we prepare for an EV?

There are more requirements — electrical safety, traction battery, EMC, acoustic pedestrian alert (UN R10, R85, R100, R101) — while emissions and fuel-system tests fall away. Timing depends on preparation: several identical vehicles, access to the battery software, a battery passport with fire-safety test reports, a charging check before shipment, interface messages in Russian or English

Do we need an applicant in the EAEU?

Yes, an applicant in the EAEU authorised by the manufacturer is a mandatory condition for a VTA

How much does it cost?

The cost depends on the number of types, the route (A, B or C) and the test scope. We provide a quotation together with the certification plan

Is the recycling (utilisation) fee included?

No. The recycling fee and localisation requirements are outside the scope of type approval
